Addressing Environmental Challenges for Outdoor Displays
In EV charging infrastructure, intelligent transportation, and marine sectors, standard screens often experience accelerated degradation. We re-engineer the display stack to address these specific bottlenecks
Enhancing All-Weather Reliability:
Core Technologies
Advanced Thermal & Optical Degradation Protection
- 407nm UV-Cut OCA: We utilize a specialized Japanese UV-Cut OCA that blocks 99% of UV rays up to 407nm. This slows the display's brightness decay ratio by 6.5 times compared to standard panels, significantly reducing LCD yellowing.
- IR Thermal Cooling: By applying a dedicated IR blocking film, we filter out 85% of near-infrared rays (850-1200nm), actively lowering the internal module temperature by 5-8°C and mitigating the risk of thermal blackouts under direct midday sun.
Sunlight Readability & IP-Rated Sealing
- High-Brightness & Optical Bonding: Driven by 800–1500 nits backlights combined with AR/AG (Anti-Reflection/Anti-Glare) surface treatments. We utilize LOCA/OCR optical bonding to eliminate air gaps, optimizing sunlight readability.
- Ingress Protection (IPX7/IP67): The cover lens is structurally bonded to the chassis using industrial-grade 3M VH5952 tape combined with precision edge-sealing glues, providing a high-performance watertight seal.
Impact Armor & Sub-Zero Operability
- IK10 Impact Armor: Precise strengthening based on thickness: 2mm glass undergoes chemical strengthening (IK08), while 3mm to 5mm glass utilizes physical strengthening to reach IK10 impact resistance.
- Sub-Zero Transparent Heater: For freezing environments (down to -40°C), we integrate a transparent heating element between the CTP and TFT, activating to maintain liquid crystal fluidity.
- High-Temp Ceramic Ink: Utilizing double-layer, customized Japanese ceramic ink to prevent peeling or fading during long-term outdoor UV exposure.

Long-Term Availability & Supply Chain Security
Comprehensive In-House Manufacturing
We manage the core production processes internally. From cover lens printing and CTP manufacturing to LCM assembly and optical bonding, this in-house approach minimizes color variance in mass production and supports supply continuity.
5-10 Year Longevity Commitment
We offer a stable supply program for 5-10 years to support your equipment lifecycle. Supported by a PCN (Product Change Notification) protocol and a strict BOM (Bill of Materials) Lock, we maintain consistency across production batches.
Validation & Testing
We encourage rigorous outdoor testing. We provide samples for qualified projects, allowing you to validate performance under direct sunlight and extreme temperatures before placing bulk orders.
Outdoor Engineering & Integration FAQ
We manage UV degradation through two methods. First, we use a Japanese 407nm UV-Cut OCAthat blocks 99% of high-intensity UV rays, protecting the organic light-emitting layers and slowing brightness decay by 6.5 times. Second, for the cover lens, we apply Customized Japanese High-Temperature Ceramic Ink, preventing the borders from peeling, cracking, or fading under prolonged sun exposure.
Alongside selecting wide-temperature raw materials (+95°C limit), we apply an IR (Infrared) Blocking Filmon the product. This film blocks 85% of near-infrared rays (850-1200nm), actively reducing the internal module temperature by 5-8°C to mitigate the risk of thermal blackouts.
We utilize outdoor-grade OCA designed to resist low-temperature delamination. Furthermore, we can integrate a transparent heating device between the touch panel and the module. This heater can be set to activate in sub-zero conditions, ensuring the liquid crystals maintain normal response times.
We apply specific strengthening processes based on the glass thickness. For 2mm glass, we use chemical strengthening to achieve an IK08 rating. For 3mm to 5mm glass, we utilize physical strengthening to reach an IK10 impact resistance rating, minimizing the risk of damage for unattended kiosks.
Internal condensation typically forms within the air gap of standard displays. We eliminate this gap using LOCA/OCR optical bonding. Additionally, the cover lens is secured to the chassis using 3M VH5952 tape and precision edge-sealing glues, creating an IPX7 watertight seal that effectively prevents moisture ingress.
Yes. To optimize sunlight readability, we combine our 800-1500 nits backlights with Anti-Reflection (AR) and Anti-Glare (AG) surface treatments. AR treatments reduce surface reflectance to ≤2%, while AG treatments scatter direct light, supporting clear visibility from various viewing angles.
Goldconn produces "Hidden Display" (Dead-front) technologies. When the screen is off, the cover lens can feature a Seamless One-piece Black panel, a Wood Grain finish, or a Mirror surface, blending into different architectural or equipment designs.
